- 1964 Porsche 356 T-6 C Coupe
-
- This is a very solid, not rusty, very complete C Coupe that
has spent most of its life in Northern California.
-
- The floors have been replaced at some time in the past, but
the longitudinals, all the closing panels, jack spurs, V brace
and door bottoms are still original and in great condition. The
hood is not original and has been repaired poorly and the nose
panel has been replaced at the factory seam. Battery acid has
destroyed the area under the battery and it has been patched
only.
-
- The interior is very complete, the radio works, leather wrapped
steering wheel with nice horn button crest, wooden shift knob,
new glove box liner, everything appears to work except the turn
signal stalk is broken. The door panels and vinyl panels under
the quarter windows are original, the dash, seats and very rear
vinyl panel have been replaced. Domestic carpets have been installed
with Sisal floor mats.
-
- The paint is definitely this car's main problem, showing
poor preparation and application. The chrome is all there, looks
original with reasonable pitting, it has a pretty nice Sigla
windshield installed, a nice original hood handle and crest,
original headlight assemblies and horn grilles, good to see.
-
- The engine numbers show this engine is probably the original
but I cannot confirm this. It is a VERY complete engine, including
all the carb pre-heat system, thermostat and linkage. It has
just had a remanufactured set of correct Zenith carburetors installed
(at around $1,400) and runs much stronger than it did when it
was new. It starts good, very responsive, and even idles by itself.
-
- This C Coupe is about as friendly a driver as you will find.
It is as comfortable as an old slipper, steers nice and stops
better than most. Drive it every day if you wish, or have a very
solid, complete, sorted foundation for any restoration work you
desire.
-
- It is offered at $30,000, which represents a VERY good value
in today's market.
